The Indian Peaks Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society is honored to host the 85th Annual Meeting of the Colorado Archaeological Society on September 25-26, 2020. In consideration of COVID-19 safety concerns, this year’s conference will be virtual, delivered through Google Meet.
One of the goals for this conference is to replicate as many of the same experiences that you’d have at an in-person conference. This conference will feature many of the events we expect:
- Fewer and longer papers during conference proceedings,
- A cash-award Poster session,
- A Raffle benefiting the Alice Hamilton Scholarship Fund,
- A keynote address from Dr. Spencer Pelton,
- Selected workshops,
- Breakout sessions,
- Annual CAS Members Meeting, and
- CAS Executive Board Meeting.
Not all components of previous Annual Meetings will be replicated, namely the Alice Hamilton Silent Auction fundraiser.
Another goal of this conference is to make it open and accessible for members and prospective members. Conference admission is free. Donations on behalf of the Alice Hamilton Scholarship Fund and Indian Peaks Chapter are encouraged. Registration for the conference opens on July 30 through Member365. Note that attendees must register through Member365 for conference events in order to obtain links to said events. Additionally, thank-you gifts featuring the art of IPCAS Resident Artist Gretchen Acharya will be available for conference supporters.
